Ruaha is Tanzania’s largest national park and one of its wildest, a remote stretch of baobab-studded landscape with some of the country’s highest concentrations of elephant and predators.
Drive along the Great Ruaha River and through rugged, baobab-dotted terrain in search of large elephant herds, lion, and one of the more reliable wild dog populations remaining in East Africa. Ruaha’s remoteness means fewer vehicles and a genuine sense of wilderness.
Because of its size and the distances involved, Ruaha is best explored as part of a multi-day stay rather than a single rushed day.
