Itinerário
Day 1: Arrival in Arusha and Safari to Tarangire National Park.
The start of your romantic journey is the landing at Kilimanjaro International Airport where you will be warmly welcomed by a representative of Nurtured Wildlife Safaris who will take you safely to Arusha. You then make the scene-looking two hour drive to Tarangire National Park, which is comprised by ancient baobab trees, after a warm cup of coffee at our office to get a briefing. Relax in a plush tented camp with a personal veranda onto a peaceful river, ideal in absorbing the peace. This is first seen on your first afternoon game drive where you see herds of elephants bathing in the water holes, and their interactions are very heart warming as a symbol of connectedness, and this can be viewed with fewer people around which adds to the intimate feeling of the experience. In the evening as the sun sets, spend a candlelit dinner with a starlit sky savouring Tanzanian dishes such as the nyama choma as you discuss the sightings of the day. The combination of riverine forests and open plains in Tarangire does not only display predators such as leopards in acacias but also conservation efforts aiming at safeguarding the habitats against poaching.
Day 2: Exploration of Tarangire to the fullest and the transfer to the lake Manyara.
Wake up to the sounds of the birds and have breakfast on the deck of your lodge, fresh fruits and the Tanzanian coffee will energize you to do some morning game drive in the deepest circuits of Tarangire to its south. Follow zebras and wildebeest cross migration routes in sync with your professional local guide who presents information of elephant matriarchs leading their families with wisdom of ancestors. The picnic lunch by the Silale Swamp midday is encircled with colorful birds such as kingfishers and provides a chance to have a small break together with your partner. In the afternoon we drive to Lake Manyara National Park where you arrive at a boutique lodge overlooking the shimmering soda lake, set on the escarpment. This is best done in the evenings, a hand-in-hand stroll along the shore of the lake at sunset, where masses of pink flamingos are seen in the golden light. Today connects the expansiveness of Tarangire with the small-scale ecosystems of Manyara where tree-climbing lions can be found only in certain forests thanks to groundwater and nature is flexible to the changing climate.
Day 3: Lake Manyara Adventures and Ngorongoro Crater Onwards.
Start with a yoga session that will be optional, in the lodge terrace, and then the morning game drive will take place across the different landscapes of Lake Manyara in the fresh air scented with wild jasmine. In woodland with blue monkeys and grassland with buffaloes, your guide shows you the invisible hippo pools and describes clearings of rhino trackers, which can be connected with conservation achievements of the park. You then set off to have a fresh lunch of local salads and grilled fish before traveling to the Ngorongoro Crater which is a world heritage site where the huge caldera is home to an unbelievable concentration of wildlife. Reserve a crater-rim lodge with comfortable fire-places and hot-tubs, best spent on a romantic evening, possibly topped off by a couples massage with the local essential oils. A night outing will reveal the nocturnal wildlife such as genets, and the light microclimate of the crater will make the trip comfortable throughout the year, making the honeymoon experience to be remembered.
Day 4: Immersion and Return to Arusha: Ngorongoro Crater.
Your last day begins with a morning drop down to the Ngorongoro crater where prides of lions and grazing rhinos are bathed in a caldera filled with more than 25,000 animals. Eat a bush breakfast in the Lerai Forest, amidst the yellow fever trees and inquisitive baboons, as your guide tells tale of black rhino conservation led by the local communities. Keep on exploring and maybe even, you can see flamingos at Lake magadi or the swamps and wonder at how nature connects. In the afternoon the afternoon passes and you are on the rim and back to Arusha to part with a final dinner with Tanzanian fusion food. Provided there is time, look into Maasai beadwork or Tanzanite jewelry as souvenirs.
